Time is fundamental in the making of The Macallan and in the latest chapter of the Masters of Photography Series dissects and explores time. The vision is inspired by the most innovative trio in the world of cuisine, the Roca Brothers of El Celler de Can Roca in Spain, and ultimately shaped through the eyes of Steven Klein, a master of visual ambiguity.
The edition is paired with a whisky of such standout quality, itself capturing an ultimate Macallan moment. Calling on time past, the whisky creation process involves whiskies aligned with a bygone era, with peated notes representing the smokiness of the industrial setting portrayed by Klein. This is combined with a selection of incredible casks, giving a whisky with sweetness, mystique and vibrancy unseen before in any Macallan whisky. The first ever use by The Macallan of a Rioja seasoned cask gives a pinkish colour, again reflective of the artist’s piece.
