In 1903, Rémy Martin's Cellar Master Paul Emile Rémy Martin II created the first Cognac especially developed for a specific market: the Coupe Shanghai designed for Asia. In 2013, in honour of the original Coupe Shanghai, Pierrette Trichet unveiled a new blend, a reinterpretation of his creation. This new blend makes the link between the past and the modernity of the brand. It is the proof of the extraordinary heritage dating from centuries at the House of Rémy Martin.
The Blend: Rémy Martin COUPE SHANGAI is composed of eaux-de-vie coming exclusively from the most sought-after vineyards of Cognac: Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. Such eaux-de-vie offer an exceptional ageing potential and are known as Cognac Fine Champagne.
The Colour : Rich amber
The Aromas and Flavours: Very harmonious fragrance of candied fruits, dry flowers and leather. Magnificent in opulence. The long ageing in limousine oak barrels give intense sensation of opulence, with notes of Almonds, rich fruits cake such as Christmas pudding and a very long finish.
The Texture: The traditional double distillation in small copper stills brings a very well balanced mouth feel and silky texture.
The Finish: Extraordinarily long finish
